WordPress for Android App Review

By Steve McFarlane

While you are better off customizing the look and feel of your WordPress blog using the larger screen of a computer, WordPress for Android enables website owners, content writers and webmasters to accomplish some basic and routine tasks from their Android devices.

Write Post and Pages on Your Mobile

If you want a way to easily write and publish a new post or page from your Android this is the app for you. WordPress for Android is an Open Source app that empowers you to write new posts and pages, edit content as well as manage comments and notifications.

View You Blog’s Stats and Moderate Comments

Administrators of self-hosted blogs can also use the app to view their stats, but will need to install the stats plugin. After you have done so, simply enter your login and select the ‘Stats’ tab to see the stats.

The app can also be used to manage discussions on your blog by giving you options to moderate comments and reply to the one you wish to engage.

Follow Other Blogs

It is not just a tool for webmasters though, the app can be used to follow another blog in a similar way you follow a RSS feed. If it is a WordPress.com blog you can just hit the “Follow” button in the app and you should start getting updates via RSS.

If the blog is not on WordPress.com, you can still follow it, provided that the blog has a RSS feed.

The app is constantly being updated with exciting new features; see what the developers are currently working on for the next WordPress for Android app at the developer blog.  Once there you can see how the new app is being developed and even request features you want included in the next release.  QR Code
