Google Cell Phone Tracker Review: Google Latitude

By Steve McFarlane

If you have had the experience of not being able to locate a friend or loved one for an extended period of time then you will understand just how important it is to stay-in-touch, if only to let those you care about know that you are where you should be and are safe.

Google Latitude allows you to see where your friends are (or at least their cell phones) and also allows you to share your current location with them, once both parties enable the service. You also have the option to keep you exact whereabouts private while still revealing the general geographical area you are in. This can be accomplished by enabling city level view instead of allowing yourself to be constantly traceable.

This Google cell phone tracker isn’t just a good solution for tracking your family and friends, but it can also help you plan and coordinate link-ups as well. Latitude can’t be considered to be an Android spy app though, owing to the fact that the tracking target has to give permission to be tracked, which ensures that no one can see your location if you don’t want them to. If you would like to track someone, without them knowing it, you will need to install cell phone spy software onto their phone.

Getting Started with Google Latitude

Use your phone to load Google Maps and from there opt to join Google Latitude.  You can then send invitations to your family and friends.  Once they accept your invitation, you can then start tracking their cell phones in real-time. Here are some videos about this Google cell phone tracking service.
